meet Pudge

This is Pudge, who will make his or her arrival around February 20. We're 8 1/2 weeks along and surviving. Morning sickness is not so fun with a toddler, but Joe is doing a great job of keeping Sam happy, keeping his wife happy, and by extension, keeping Pudge happy.

On the upside, I'm almost back down to my normal weight. Morning sickness is a great diet. Yesterday, I got reaquainted with my hip bones...haven't seen them since 2007!
Joe said, "If only you could package morning sickness as a pill...we'd be rich!"
Thanks. I think I'd rather be fat.

Aww! Pudge is so cute already! Are you gonna keep the sex a surprsie like Sam? I always liked to know early, but either way, I am gunnin' for a girl!!!!!

I agree, that is one good-lookin' baby already! :) On my radiology rotation, they described that gestational age as the "gummy bear" stage.

As for diets, the "3 weeks in the ICU" diet is also quite effective for dropping that baby weight.

I'd also rather be fat. :)

That's right up there with Joe's "If my wife was a 4H hog, I'd be happy at how nicely she was gaining.." comment from the Sam era. Pudge looks great and can't wait to meet her/him.

I know the feeling. I was throwing up all 9 months with both of my pregnancies. I am trying to convince myself I want to do it again. I am so excited for you. Are you still going to work full time after baby #2? Have a good weekend.

I love the little one's name: Pudge. I had the resident sonographer Becca verify that only one baby was in there!

I think we're going to be surprised again. It was so exhilarating to find out at his birth...but I have a feeling that this one is a boy, too.

Isn't it funny how you just have a feeling. I felt the same way with Millie... i just knew the moment we found out it as a girl.

Hope you are on the up and up with the sickness and glad to see that Pudge is doing well!

Congradulations Jen! Are you and Joe a little relieved that you are only seeing the one little one?

congrats, Joe and Jen. Glad to hear your waiting for the surprise of boy/girl. That was one of my favorite parts was the excitement of finding out when their born.

Ellea was very sad when we had our last day babysitting the twins, but I cheered her up by saying that soon we'd have Joe and Jen's baby to spoil!!

Yeay! Me likey pictures, even if Amy calls them "gummy bear". Hope your style starts swining towards that 'blissful pregnancy' fashion soon.

Very nice to meet Pudge. I have a pic of Natalie like this and she does look just like a gummy bear with the little stub arms...

... and though I do not miss morning/all day sickness I may still be a customer for the pill so that I can see my hip bones again... I miss my hip bones :).

Ahhh... I love the first U/S... it's so fun to see that there's really a little person in there!
Congrats!

I'm a little late to the party here, but congratulations! It's great that you already have pictures of the pudgetastic new Kaufman-to-be! I hope that the morning sickness is a little better this time around (though I'm still jealous that you have seen your hip bones ;o).

Okay, I just have to admit this:
I always felt like I was being given a Rorshach (sp?) ink-blot test, when I looked at the ultra-sounds of my own kids. I could NEVER figure out which end was which. They probably showed me the sex, of both children, bold as day, and I didn't see it. It was a surprise.

So I THINK I see Pudge, but honestly, I can't really tell. What I CAN tell you, is that I'm so thrilled for you and your little family, and will be following this pregnancy through your blog, with great joy and interest!

Love from Montana!
